4 DAY TOUR MARRAKECH TO ERG CHEGAGA DESERT

DAY 1 :

FROM MARRAKECH-TELOUAT- AIT BENHADDOU - OUARZAZATE CAMEL TREK

Morocco Berber Travel organizes tour from Marrakech with experienced drivers and guides to explore Sahara desert. After breakfast, you will drive to discover an authentic Kasbah in Telouat, passing via Atlas mountains of Tizi n'Tichka, 2260 meters altitude, to Telouat built by Pacha Glaoui in the period of the French colonization. On your way, you will see stunning landscapes in Ounila valley and the authentic Berber villages. Before lunch, you will visit one of the UNESCO world heritage sites named Ait Benhaddou Kasabah . It's classified since 1987. This fortified Kasbah is an attractive site for private tours and excursions departing from Marrakech. Because of its beautiful architecture and natural decoration Ait Benhaddou Kasbah becomes one of the famous locations that is used for movies shooting. Such as "Gladiator", “Lawrence of Arabia”, "Alexander", "Kingdom of heaven", "Babel" & "Prince of Persia".... We will resume our way to Ouarzazate where you will have dinner in your hotel.

DAY 2 :

OUARZAZATE - DRAA VALLEY – ERG CHEGAGA

Leaving Ouarzazate at 8:30 am we will head towards Draa Valley. On your way, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Atlas mountains passing by Ait Saouan mountains, 1262 meters high, towards Agdaz where you will stop for a break. We will resume our way through Draa valley with many date palm trees to Zagora where you will have lunch. After lunch we will visit one of the oldest Coranic schools and libraries in Morocco at Tamgrout. After this you will enjoy a visit to see the amazing work of the local craftsmen. We will then continue our way to M’hamid where we will drive in the off road for 40 km toward the dunes of Erg Chegaga to see the sunset and spend the night in Berber tent in the middle of nowhere (bivouac).

DAY 3 :

ERG CHEGAGA – FOUM ZGUIT – TAZNAKHT - OUARZAZATE

You will get up early for sunrise and breakfast. After breakfast, we will cross Foum Zguit passing by nomadic tents, discovering the dry lake Iriqui, a flat desert full of Acacia plants then we will stop for a picnic lunch continuing on to Ouarzazate through Taznakht. The night will be spent in Ouarzazate in a hotel.

DAY 4 :

OUARZAZATE – TIZI N'TICHKA - BACK TO MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we will take a tour of discovery of Ouarzazate city; Taourirt Kasbah and Cinema Studios, protected by UNESCO World Heritage, where many famous films have been made, and then enjoy lunch in a local Berber restaurant. Then we will drive back to Marrakech via Tizi n'Tichka.
